Fort Fidget

Fidget has made it very clear to me that this is HER SPACE and I'm to STAY OUT...

I took the litter box out because she wasn't using it, just sleeping in it and peeing everywhere else. So I put Yesterday's News on the whole floor and am going to let her get used to a potty spot then I'll put it back.

She took ALL her hay and as you can kind of see, made a wall and put herself inside the bunker. Yes Marianne, my bunneh clearly doesn't like me either!

She does get time to come out and play but not free roam until I devise a solution to protect the underside of the treadmill (after I fix it... it still works but something has been disconnected, not sure what yet, but knowing her it's the emergency stop button!). So mostly I put her in the bedroom with the door shut and let her play and get exercise. I'll be dog sitting another 3 weeks off and on so won't worry about her getting her freedom until April.

Fidget doesn't like you? We hope she changes her mind before long. No fun having a bun with an antisocial attitude.

Oh Carri Ann, I wouldn't say she doesn't like you! Fidget has certainly heard from Miss Eve and Neville of the program we sometimes watch here on TV, it's called Grand Designs and is brilliant - they show you how people make their own dream house. One of the shows was on a eco house with walls made of balls of straw! So, I guess this is what Fidget is trying to do - put to action her own Grand Design :)

Maybe you could implement the "paws on" method of feeding that Sydney and Tyler have been using (any excuse to see pics of tiny bun paws).

Oh, it isn't dislike, it is just that natural disapproval. That is the perfect fort Fidget has made.

I would say Fidget is just euthamic ... no, I don't know what that means ... it is the robot-catcher word!

BOL....that is kind of funny but I bet she really does like you. She is just independent. :)

Buns with attitude are the best. Charlie has buckets of it too. He doesn't tend to build forts (but don't put the idea in his head) but shows his disapproval by head butting and pulling at your clothing... Charlie was adopted from a friend and it took a while to 'bond' with each other; now he goes doo-lally for attention.

He sends his compliments, by the way.

We think she likes you... looks like she is building a nice little den though! Mom got Jack to come around by lying on the floor really still and letting Jack climb all over her... she only chewed through a few of her clothes...

Maybe you should tell her the story of the three pigs and what happened to the house made of straw! No, nevermind, she might demand some bricks.

Fidget made herself a nice little bunker all right. I hope she becomes more sociable in time.
